We Organize, We Don’t Sell: Our business model is building a great tool, not selling your personal data. We do not sell your data to advertisers or brokers.
Your Keys, Your Data: We use "Zero-Knowledge" architecture for backups. If you lose your password and recovery key, we cannot recover your data for you.
AI You Control: Our AI helps organize your chats. It processes data on our secure servers but does not use your messages to train its models. You can turn this off.
Local Contacts: We respect your address book. Your contacts are cached locally on your device to make the app fast; they are not harvested to our servers.
Welcome to TAWK. We are committed to protecting your privacy while helping you Organize, Prioritize, and Control your digital communications. This policy explains how we handle your information when you use the TAWK mobile application and services.
We collect only what is necessary to provide our unified messaging service.

TAWK allows you to view messages from third-party platforms (like WhatsApp) in one place. Here is how that works technically:
How We Connect: We do not store your WhatsApp password. We use a secure "Matrix bot" system on our servers. You provide your phone number, and our backend infrastructure manages the connection to the WhatsApp web session.
Message Sync: When connected, we pull your text and media messages from the third-party provider to display them in TAWK. This is a continuous sync (pull/push) to ensure you see new messages instantly.
Your Responsibility: While we secure the data once it reaches TAWK, your account with the third-party provider (e.g., Meta/WhatsApp) is still subject to their own privacy policies.
Our core feature is using AI to Organize, Prioritize, and Control your chats.
How It Works: To identify which tasks are "Important" or create "To-Do" lists from chats, your messages are sent securely via HTTPS to our servers in Missouri, USA.
Server-Side Analysis: Our AI analyzes the text on our secure servers to categorize it.
No AI Training: We do not use your message content to train our AI models. Your conversations remain yours; we just help you sort them.
Storage: Messages are stored on our servers using encryption-at-rest.
Processing: During the specific moment of AI analysis, messages are decrypted by our system to be "read" by the AI, then re-encrypted.
Opt-Out: If you prefer that our servers never analyze your message content, you can Opt-Out of AI features in Settings. You will still be able to use TAWK to aggregate chats, but without the smart prioritization.
We take security seriously.
Hosting: Our servers are located in Missouri, USA.
Encryption: All data is encrypted while stored on our servers ("at rest").
Backups (Zero-Knowledge): We use a system where you hold the keys. Your chat backups are encrypted with a key derived from your password. TAWK stores the encrypted blob, but we do not have the key to decrypt it.
Important: If you lose your password/recovery key, TAWK cannot recover your backup data. It is permanently lost. This ensures that even if TAWK were hacked, your backups would remain unreadable.
We use trusted third-party vendors to help run TAWK. We do not sell data to them.
You have full control over your data.
Delete Your Account: You can delete your account instantly via the App Settings. When you click delete, your data is permanently removed immediately. There is no "grace period" or undo button.
Opt-Out: You can disable Location Services or AI Analysis features at any time in Settings.
Data Portability: We are currently working on a tool to allow you to download a ZIP file of your data. Until then, please contact support for assistance.
TAWK is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
